Shougang Industrial Park

Shougang Park is a new landmark of Beijing's urban renewal, close to Yongding River and backed by Shijingshan Mountain. It has unique advantages in geographical location, spatial resources, history and culture, and ecological environment. It is the official partner of Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

Shougang Park has been included in the first batch of national pilot projects for the transformation of old industrial areas, the national pilot zone for comprehensive reform of the service industry, the national experimental zone for sustainable development, and the Beijing green ecological demonstration zone, becoming the first C40 positive climate model zone in China. In February 2022, the Shougang Big Air hosted the freestyle skiing and snowboarding events of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Thomas Bach, President of International Olympic Committee, praised Shougang Park as an "amazing" example of urban planning and renewal.

Conference venue：Shougang-Three Blast Furnace

The No. 3 blast furnace of Shougang, which was the first modern large blast furnace with a volume of more than 2500 cubic meters, condensing the industrial memory of Beijing. It suspended production in 2010 and completed the transformation in 2018. The core structures such as the blast furnace body, the hot blast stove, and the gravity dust collector were retained. The overall design and development were carried out by taking advantage of the height difference of the site to achieve the harmony between industry and nature.

The 9.7-meter platform inside the blast furnace has undertaken great events such as the China Science and Fiction Conference, Mercedes-Benz Press Conference, Beijing Fashion Week, BTV New Year Ceremony, and the opening ceremony of the Xishan Yongding River Cultural Festival. Before the suspension of production, the 40-meter platform of the blast furnace was the maintenance platform on the top of the blast furnace canopy. After the transformation, it has the function of sightseeing and outdoor exhibition. Before the transformation, the 70-meter glass platform functioned as equipment maintenance. After the transformation, it is an outdoor exhibition space, where people can completely experience the height and scale of the blast furnace.
